What We Do
Biologic Delivery Technologies (BDT) was formed in 2021 to focus on commercializing innovative and disruptive drug delivery technologies that safely and effectively control and deliver a wide variety of pharmaceuticals and therapeutic agents in the treatment of diseases and conditions in humans and animals.
Dr. Emmanuel Opara - a founding principal of BDT - spent years developing his modified alginate microbead platform and the results in preclinical testing have been unprecedented. After patenting the technology, Dr. Opara is now working closely with BDT to license the rights to this novel drug delivery technology and conceive of new applications for the platform.

Dr. Emmanuel Opara
One of world's leading diabetes research scientists and a globally recognized expert in the use of hydrogel materials, Dr. Opara is also Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the renowned Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Opara is co-inventor of BDT’s patented hydrogel technology, the holder of multiple patents and is currently working on a bio-artificial pancreas.
Jon Borderud
Mr. Borderud is an attorney and legal officer for BDT with 35+ years of experience in corporate and business law, transactions and litigation. He has handled all aspects of discovery, law and motion, trial preparation and appellate work in civil matters as well as contracts, patents, trademarks, copyrights and partnerships work.
Edward Scott Sr.
Mr. Scott is an investment banker with 45+ years of experience as entrepreneur and CEO in the biomedical, energy, renewables, finance and communications sectors. He was previously a senior executive at leading Wall Street banks, investment firms and venture capital entities.
